ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Did you see a bunch of mail scattered across 390 northbound near the Rochester airport Monday night or Tuesday morning? A spokesperson for the United States Postal Service tells us it was “undeliverable bulk business” being brought to recycling.

They say the load of mail was dropped along the highway by a “contracted vehicle.”

Th spokesperson says no mail or packages meant for delivery were involved.

It’s unclear how the mail ended up on the highway and who is responsible for cleaning it up. We’re also working to learn what exactly “contracted vehicles” are and what they do for USPS, and who is responsible for the spill.

This is a developing story, and News10NBC is working to learn more. This story will be updated as we learn more information.
