The Arizona Cardinals drafted Iowa linebacker Karson Sharar with the No. 183 pick in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
He marks the second defensive player taken by Arizona this draft after Southeastern Louisiana defensive lineman Kaleb Proctor heard his name called in the fourth round.

The 6-foot-1, 231-pound Sharar is coming off his fifth and final season at Iowa where he recorded a team-leading 83 tackles (12 for loss) and four sacks. He added a pass defensed and one forced fumble in 13 starts. He can also made an impact on special teams behind 545 snaps.
The linebacker was named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in his one year as a starter at Iowa.
He added a 4.56-second 40-yard dash and 40-inch vertical to his resume at the NFL Draft Combine.
Sharar now joins a linebackers room led by MIKE backer Mack Wilson Sr. and second-year pro Cody Simon.
New addition Jack Gibbens, Owen Pappoe and Austin Keys round out the room.
