HENRIETTA, N.Y. — Brick Universe was held at the Dome Arena in Henrietta on Saturday.
It’s a Lego exhibition where artists show their displays. Many Lego enthusiasts showed up for the event.
Children and adults took in the art. They had a chance to speak with local Lego builders and see their techniques up close.
One featured artist showed off his collection with Star Wars scenes. Rochester is his hometown, but he travels around the country with his creations.
“I post a lot of stuff online, but there’s nothing like displaying in public. Talking to people, seeing the looks on everybody’s faces, being able to explain how I do things, and a lot of the things I build, they’re so complex and so detailed that pictures don’t do them justice. And seeing them in person is the only right way to like truly appreciate them,” said Dave Zambito, a featured artist at Brick Universe.
Zambito said Rochester has a huge Lego fan community. He also said this is Brick Universe’s biggest event as far as how many items are on display.
He has 16 tables of his own collection that he brings around the country. Brick Universe continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and then 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
