Day 2 of the 2026 NFL Draft is in the history books, and the Arizona Cardinals seemed to land the plane with their first selection and raised some eyebrows with their second.

Cardinals take their QB swing on Carson Beck... Will it pay off?
The franchise picked Texas A&M offensive guard Chase Bisontis at No. 34 overall (second round) and Miami quarterback Carson Beck at No. 65 (third round).
Arizona addressed two roster needs on Friday night, and it enters Day 3 (Rounds 4-7) with a few other holes to fill. Entering Saturday, the Cardinals have pick Nos. 104 (fourth round), 143 (fifth), 183 (sixth) and 217 (seventh).
A look at what NFL Draft analysts think of the Cardinals’ Day 2 haul:
Yahoo Sports’ Charles McDonald
Bisontis grade: A-
Bisontis is a high-upside, high-floor offensive lineman who can boost the Cardinals’ run game that now features Jeremiyah Love and Tyler Allgeier.
Beck grade: D+
I don’t understand the upside here. Beck could be a good backup, but the Cardinals already have Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew. It’s a dart throw, but I’m not sure about this one.
CBS Sports’ Mike Renner
Bisontis grade: A
After taking Jeremiyah Love in Round 1, the Cardinals come back and give him someone to open up running lanes. Bisontis is also a physical presence in pass protection where he thrives cleaning up pockets whenever he can. Without any options to fill their tackle need, this was the next best option.
Beck grade: D
This feels like a relative slap in the face to Cardinals fans. Your offseason investment at the most valuable position is a 24-year-old with limited tools after you’ve taken a running back and a guard. Is this guy really going toe-to-toe with Matt Stafford or Sam Darnold in that division? It feels like when the Texans drafted Davis Mills 67th in 2021. I’d rather they pass on the quarterback entirely and pray for a better crop of quarterbacks in 2027.
Sports Illustrated’s Matt Verderame
Bisontis grade: B-
After adding Jeremiyah Love in the first round, the Cardinals decided to beef up the offensive line in front of him. Bisontis should be an immediate starter for Arizona, which needs to upgrade both at guard and right tackle. The Cardinals are building for when they eventually get a franchise quarterback, and Bisontis is a building block on that side of the ball.
Beck grade: F
Arizona is taking a flyer on Beck, who will join a quarterback room with Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew II. At 6′ 4″ and 233 pounds, Beck has ideal size. He should begin his career as a third-stringer with upside and could see the field in 2026 if Arizona is out of contention.
The Athletic’s Nick Baumgardner and Scott Dochterman
Bisontis grade: A-
A big-framed, powerful presence inside and a terrific all-around athlete, Bisontis grew up idolizing Quenton Nelson and plays with similar hand power. He’ll push for time quickly in Arizona.
Beck grade: A-
The Cardinals needed a quarterback, and Beck was the most experienced one left on the board. He’ll compete to be the starter at some point this season. Beck answered some questions after recovering from elbow surgery and guided the Hurricanes to the College Football Playoff championship game.
USA Today’s Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz
Bisontis grade: B-
Time to build up that front for Jeremiyah Love. While the glaring hole at right tackle remains, Bisontis can help fortify an uncertain interior. He’s a good athlete who could become a long-term staple along the front if he cleans up some of his pass protection.
Beck grade: D
It’s understandable that Arizona might want to take a stab at finding a developmental quarterback. Beck, however, is a robotic passer who can wilt under pressure, and his decision-making and ball placement can be erratic. This doesn’t move the needle much for a team preparing to roll with Jacoby Brissett. With so much work to do, Arizona should take a more patient approach to roster-building.
