ROCHESTER, N.Y. – If you couldn’t get outside to enjoy the warmth and sunshine yesterday, you have another chance today!
It’ll be a little bit cooler than yesterday, but definitely still comfortable. We’re already feeling that cooler air this morning with temps in the 40s; around 5-10 degrees cooler than Wednesday morning. Sunny skies will dominate once again despite some thin upper-level clouds moving in by the afternoon… Highs will be around 60 in Rochester and the FLX while the lakeshore sees slightly cooler temps due to lake breeze. Tonight will be partly cloudy and get down to the low 40s again.
Friday a backdoor cold front will bring cooler temps to the region as a whole. Highs will only be in the upper 40s to low 50s amid partly cloudy skies, and there’s a chance of light drizzle especially east towards Syracuse, but overall mainly dry for our region.
Early Saturday morning rain will arrive. These will be scattered rain showers that take their time giving us wet conditions throughout the day, but no flood threat as the ground has had decent time to dry out, so we stay Green on the Threat Tracker. The heaviest rain is likely to be in the morning, turning lighter through the afternoon, then will exit the region an hour or two after sunset, leading to a dry and seasonable Sunday.
A few more chances for rain through next week, namely Tuesday and Friday, and by next weekend we’re looking at cooler than average temperatures which could last through early May.
