A Smarter Desk Lighting Solution for Work and Video Calls
buy from amazonYears ago, I had a desk setup that was simple. It included an iMac, speakers, keyboard, and mouse. That was it. I didn’t see the need for additional lighting, but now, in the age of video conferencing, I definitely do. I have been fighting grainy video for years, and I just haven’t found the best solution to fight it. I’ve tried different lighting solutions like available light, daylight from windows, light installations like the Nanoleaf, and single video lights, but none of them were good enough. I was starting to research adding a second video light to my desk when I stumbled across the LitONES lights.
LitONES is a global lighting brand focused on creating modern, eye-friendly solutions for home offices, video calls, and content creation. The company specializes in desk and on-camera lighting designed to improve both workspace visibility and how users appear on screen. Their products are built around a core idea of “sunlight-like” illumination, using proprietary techniques such as side-lighting and what they call “Sunshine Simulation” technology to deliver softer, more natural-looking light.
LitONES has primarily gained traction by focusing on practical, everyday use cases like Zoom meetings, streaming, and long desk sessions, where reducing eye strain and improving on-camera appearance are key. The company emphasizes continuous product development and user-focused design, aiming to offer simple, effective lighting solutions without the complexity of traditional studio gear.
After learning about their products, I decided that the EaseGlow H01 was the best model for my setup. It’s built with a dual-direction lighting system. The light delivers focused illumination for your desk while also casting soft ambient light behind your monitor to reduce contrast and eye strain.
The EaseGlow H01 has adjustable brightness levels and color temperatures so it easily adapts to different environments. This particular lamp has a clamp-mounted design, which is perfect for my workspace because it doesn’t take up any of my desk real estate.
Designed for home offices, multi-monitor setups, and casual content creation, the EaseGlow H01 offers a streamlined alternative to traditional desk lamps and bulkier studio lighting. It combines functionality and simplicity into a single, space-saving lighting solution that enhances both productivity and comfort.

User Experience
The installation process is very, very simple. The lights are completely assembled out of the box. The only thing you have to do to be operational is to connect the light to power. After pulling the light out of its box and removing the packaging, I clamped the light to the corner of my desk and plugged it in. This is when I discovered one of the design elements that I really appreciate. The power cable plugs into the base of the light’s arm. This means that you don’t have to string the power cable through the arm. I LOVE this because it cuts down on cable clutter and just leaves a clean look for your workspace.
The clamp is easy to tighten down. It’s got a thumbscrew-style c-clamp that you can tighten without any tools. This means that you can install the lights that much faster. From box to operation, I think it only took me about five minutes. The remotes that come with the lights are puck-style and operate by twisting left or right. It also has a button-press control to turn the lights on and off or to press/hold while turning to change the color temperature.
A single remote can control two lights, which was very fortunate for me since I would have had two of those pucks on my desk. The process to pair a second light to a single remote is very simple. You just press/hold the power button on the light itself until it flashes, indicating a pairing mode. Then you tap the puck remote. At that point, the single remote will control the two lights simultaneously.
The only thing I don’t like is that the remote is powered by batteries instead of being rechargeable. It comes with three AAA batteries, but I hate the idea of having to change batteries. I would rather plug something in when it needs power.
I’m grateful that the lights came with remotes because having to reach up to the on-light controls would have been a no-go for me. As nice as having the remotes is though, I would really love it if there was an app control. I’m just looking for a little utility app for desktop that will allow you to change your settings while on a call without having to pick up a remote. It’s a small recommendation that would make a big difference.
The lighting performance is impressive. It makes an immediate difference, and the light spreads evenly across the desk. I thought the lamps did a great job of filling in the entire workspace without creating harsh spots or shadows. I tested both lights together in a completely dark room with only my monitor and monitor light bar on, and I still had more than enough light to comfortably see everything on my desk. It didn’t feel overly bright either. It just felt balanced.
The biggest test for me was using the lights for a video calls to see if the video quality improved from my previous experiences. The difference was noticeable right away. The grain that I usually see in lower light situations was completely gone, and my video signal looked much cleaner.
Adjusting brightness and color temperature is smooth and gradual, which I really appreciate. You can make very small adjustments without the light jumping between levels, which makes it easier to dial things in exactly how you want them. The one thing I do wish it had is some kind of display or indicator on the remote to show what color temperature you’re currently using. I’d like to be able to match the color temperature of the EaseGlow H01 lights with other sources like my monitor light bar. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it would be a really nice improvement.
Conclusion
The LitONES EaseGlow H01 ended up fixing a problem I’ve been trying to solve for years. Instead of chasing the “perfect” video light setup, it takes a more practical approach by improving the overall lighting around your desk. It’s not trying to replace a full studio setup, and honestly, it doesn’t need to. What you get is a simple, effective solution that blends right into your workspace and just works. If you want better desk lighting and a cleaner look on video without adding bulky gear, this is an easy one to recommend.
