As a result, he will not be able to be a part of Surrey in the T20 Blast tournament. An ICC spokesperson has informed the PCB about the matter, and the results of his test will be communicated to the board later on Wednesday. The report claims that Nawaz had tested positive during Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, where he featured in all seven matches and scored 15 runs whlle picking up 7 wickets.
“The International Cricket Council (ICC) has informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about this matter, and PCB has begun the due process. The results of this process will be communicated to the ICC today, the source said.
Interestingly, the PCB had announced a couple of weeks ago that a No-Objection Certificate would be granted to Nawaz to participate in the T20 Blast in England for Surrey. The team was expected to make his signing official this week. While the ICC has declined to comment on the matter as per reports, Nawaz has been a part of Multan Sultans in all the games they have played in PSL 2026 so far.
