2026 NCAA Qualifier Haley McDonald has announced she will transfer from Texas to Michigan. She just finished her freshman season and has three years of eligibility remaining.
The Louisville, Kentucky native arrived at Texas in the fall and was the #7 ranked recruit in the girls high school class of 2025. She battled injury during her junior year of high school, causing her to miss 2024 Olympic Trials.
She swam to a season best 1:52.94 in prelims of the 200 backstroke at the 2026 SEC Championships, a time that made the 2026 NCAA cutline. She also made the NCAA cutline in the 400 IM as she swam to a huge lifetime best 4:07.55 at midseason. That dropped four seconds off her lifetime best.
She finished 39th in both the 200 back and 400 IM at the 2026 NCAA Championships as she swam to a 1:55.34 in the 200 back and a 4:13.48 in the 400 IM.
