Leeds United, Burnley and Birmingham City reached 100 points in their respective league campaigns last season. Can Lincoln City add their name to the list in 2025-26?
Lincoln City have the opportunity to join the 100-point club in 2025-26 as they sit on 94 points with three games remaining in League One.
Michael Skubala’s side have already secured promotion to the Championship for next season, with 2026-27 set to be their first second-tier league campaign since 1960-61.
Last season saw Leeds United pip Burnley to the Championship title on goal difference on the final day of the 2024-25 campaign thanks to a 2-1 comeback win over Plymouth Argyle, with victory taking them to the fabled 100-points mark.
For a while, it looked as though Daniel Farke’s men were going to drop points, which would have prevented them reaching the century and seen Burnley – who also earned 100 points – take the title.
The Clarets beat Millwall 3-1 at Turf Moor and were largely untroubled, while Leeds required a stoppage-time winner on the road.
Manor Solomon’s late decider for Leeds ensured they joined Burnley in reaching 100 points, meaning both join esteemed company by hitting the century mark.
They also took the number of EFL clubs to reach 100 points in 2024-25 to three, following the example set by Birmingham City in League One.
That is a first for English league football, with three teams reaching the century in the same campaign never previously occurring in the EFL’s 137-year history.
For Burnley, it was the second successive Championship season in which they’ve have amassed 100 points after earning 101 in 2022-23 en route to the Premier League under Vincent Kompany.

Manchester City remain the only top-flight club in English league history to reach 100 points, as they won the Premier League title back in 2017-18. That tally was only secured with the last kick of the game in their final-day win at Southampton, with Gabriel Jesus creating history with his goal in the fourth minute of added time at St Mary’s Stadium on 13 May 2018.
Back in 1981, the EFL increased the number of points for a win from two to three, reportedly so teams would try harder to avoid boring draws. If earlier league campaigns were retroactively calculated under this system, an additional nine teams would join the 100-point club:
Tottenham Hotspur (2nd tier) – 102 points in 1919-20 (adjusted from 70 points)Doncaster Rovers (3rd tier) – 105 points in 1946-47 (adjusted from 72 points)Rotherham United (3rd tier) – 102 points in 1950-51 (adjusted from 71 points)Nottingham Forest (3rd tier) – 100 points in 1950-51 (adjusted from 70 points)Bristol City (3rd tier) – 100 points in 1950-51 (adjusted from 70 points)Hull City (3rd tier) – 100 points in 1950-51 (adjusted from 69 points)Aston Villa (3rd tier) – 102 points in 1971-72 (adjusted from 70 points)Lincoln City (4th tier) – 106 points in 1975-76 (adjusted from 74 points)Watford (4th tier) – 101 points in 1977-78 (adjusted from 71 points)
Leeds’ late winner on the final day of last season meant that Burnley became the first team in EFL history to reach 100 points (including adjusted tallies) and not win their league title.
Before this, the most points a team had won in an EFL season while not winning their league title were Ipswich Town in 2022-23. They secured 98 points from their 46 matches but lost out on the League One title by three points as Plymouth Argyle finished first on 101 points.
