Grant Fleming of West Chester, Pennsylvania has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Virginia beginning in the 2027-2028 season.

Fleming represents Suburban Seahawks and most recently swam at NCSAs last month. There his highest finish came in the 100 back as he was 3rd in a 47.47. He swam best times in the 50 back (22.27) and 50 fly (22.20).

Just a week earlier, Fleming finished his junior season for Unionville High School. There he swam to a PIAA 3A State title in the 100 back, posting a lifetime best 47.24. He also swam to a 2nd place finish in the 100 fly, touching in a lifetime best 47.75. He dropped almost two seconds in the 100 back this season as he entered the fall with a lifetime best 49.15. His best time coming into the season in the 100 fly was a 49.37.

Fleming’s Best SCY Times Are:

100 back: 47.24 200 back: 1:47.94 100 fly: 47.75

The Virginia men finished 7th out of 15 teams at the 2026 ACC Championships and went on to finish 9th at the 2026 NCAA Championships. The team was led by freshmen Maximus Williamson and Thomas Heilman.

It took a 46.71 100 back, 1:42.39 200 back, and a 46.43 100 fly to earn a second swim at the 2026 ACC Championships. Rising junior David King led the team in both backstroke events with a 45.05 100 back and a 1:37.43 200 back this past season. King and Fleming will overlap for one season.

Fleming will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2031 along with Daniel Branon, Joey Campagnola, Juan Vallmitjana, Luc Dionne, Michael Powell, and William Shoesmith.
