IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. — Summerville Presbyterian Church held the first part of its annual spring garage sale Friday, offering affordable items to the community.
The church at Saint Paul Boulevard and Ontario View Street featured furniture, books, kids’ toys and more at affordable prices. The sale aims to make shopping accessible while bringing the community together.
“It gives us a chance to get to know people, especially close to the church community,” said Bill Carter, a volunteer for the church. “It gives us something to experience with the building itself not just on Sundays, and it’s a way for us to demonstrate some of God’s love for all people.”
Carter said the event serves multiple purposes beyond just selling items.
The sale continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the end of the sale, anything not sold will be donated to local nonprofits.
