Eighteen NFL teams are attending Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson’s private workout at the school on Friday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
ESPN’s Peter Schrager adds the New York Giants are among the teams in Tempe and “rarely have we seen such a significant workout session with such a massive turnout less than a week from the (NFL Draft).”
Tyson, who is projected as a first-round prospect this draft, did not do on-field work this offseason as he recovered from a hamstring injury. That meant sitting out both the NFL Draft Combine — outside of posting 26 bench press reps (one away from tying a combine record) — and ASU’s pro day.
When healthy, the wide receiver has proved he has the traits to compete at the next level. After reeling in 75 passes for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024 (12 games), Tyson added another 61 catches, 711 yards and eight scores in his final season at ASU (nine games).
As for where he might end up on Day 1 of the NFL Draft, that’s up for debate, with ESPN’s Matt Miller projecting a ceiling as high as No. 14 overall and a floor as low as No. 33.
Tyson’s tape is top-15 caliber when he’s on the field, but the best ability is availability. He missed 17 of the possible 51 games he could have played in; he also missed the spring program for the Sun Devils last year. Tyson’s most recent injury was to a hamstring, which caused him to sit out of three games in 2025.
Teams will have varying levels of acceptance with injuries, but Tyson’s range is all over the place because of that — and eight drops in the 2024 season haven’t helped his stock either. He could come off the board as early as No. 8 to the Saints or slip to the Jets at No. 33 if those injury concerns prove valid.
In ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr.’s final mock draft of the offseason, Tyson lands with the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 9 overall.

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler isn’t too far off Kiper’s thinking in his seven-round mock draft published Wednesday that has Tyson going to the Los Angeles Rams at No. 13.
But in NFL.com analyst Chad Reuter’s five-round mock draft, Tyson goes much later in the round at No. 22 to the Cleveland Browns via trade.
“Wherever God wants him to be, it’ll be. And of course, I’m a little biased. … But I’m excited just to see,” ASU wide receivers coach and former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward told reporters Tuesday.
“I tell all the scouts and all the teams, whatever team ends up drafting him, you’re going to get a winner. I know the work that he’s put into it.”
