ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The city of Rochester announced the winners of its second round of “Neighbors in Action” grants this morning.
Neighbors in Action is a city initiative that gives Rochesterians money for projects to improve their neighborhoods. This year, 74 projects received more than $298,000 in funding.
“If you really want to find the expertise about neighborhoods…invest in it,” Banister said.
The initiatives funded this year range from CPR training and public art to youth programs, neighborhood cleanups and block parties.
Some of the organizations getting funding include Flower City Outreach, Unity Northeast Block Club Association, Lock 66 Neighborhood Association, and Barakah Muslim Charity.
