2026 Australian Age Championships
April 11-18, 2026 Gold Coast Aquatic Centre LCM (50 Meters) Meet Central Heat Sheets Day 1 Recap Live ResultsThe records continued to fall on day two of the 2026 Australian Age Championships, with the nation’s up-and-coming talent taking to the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre long course pool.
14-year-old Quinn Richards made some major noise while racing in his age category’s 100m breaststroke, with the Camberwell teen logging a huge new personal best, Age Record and All Comers Record.
Richards stopped the clock at a mighty time of 1:03.65 to become the first-ever Aussie 14-year-old to clear the 1:04 barrier.
Tonight he topped the field handily, with Raphael Taewoo Oh representing the next-fastest competitor in 1:05.12 as Levi Anderson rounded out the podium in 1:05.79.
Richards opened in 29.92 and closed in 33.37 to destroy the former Age Record and All Comers Record of 1:04.21 Koa Stotz established last year. His time also laid waste to his own previous personal best of 1:05.66 and his prelims outing of 1:05.79 from this morning.
For additional perspective, Richards’ 1:03.65 performance would rank him as the 7th-fastest American 13-and-14-year-old boy in history.
