Sport by : (Arizona sports) -

Arizona men’s basketball lost its first players to the transfer portal this weekend with freshmen forwards Sidi Gueye and Dwayne Aristode reportedly departing.

Coming off their run to the Final Four, the Wildcats will be looking for a point guard and more with senior Jaden Bradley out of eligibility. Oregon point guard Jackson Shelstad was reportedly set to visit Arizona on April 14, but that visit has been canceled. Shelstad took a visit to Louisville on April 8 and is expected to sign with the Cardinals.

With Koa Peat and Brayden Burries expected to depart for the NBA draft and Bradley, Tobe Awaka and Anthony Dell’Orso out of eligibility, the Wildcats could roll out almost an entirely new rotation in 2026-27.

Junior big man Motiejus Krivas said after the Final Four loss that he was still weighing his draft decision, while forward Ivan Kharchenkov has also popped up on NBA draft boards.

Five-star shooting guard Caleb Holt out of Prolific Prep and Goodyear Millennium High School shooting guard Cameron Holmes, a four-star prospect, are Arizona’s only commits in the class of 2026 to this point.

Outgoing transfers:

F Sidi Gueye (April 10) — The 6-foot-11 Senegalese forward appeared in 26 games for the Wildcats as a freshman but played sparingly, averaging 3.4 minutes per game. Gueye’s most meaningful contributions came when Peat missed three and a half games to a lower leg muscle strain and Aristode concurrently missed four games due to an illness.

F Dwayne Aristode (April 11) — The 6-foot-8 Dutch international was one of four freshmen who made up coach Tommy Lloyd’s eight-player rotation in 2025-26. He shot 30 of 65 (46.2%) from beyond the arc this season, allowing Arizona to space the floor.

Aristode’s best game came against NAU when he scored a season-high 18 points and tied the Arizona freshman record by making six 3-pointers. After Aristode returned from an illness, his role was greatly reduced. Aristode averaged 15 minutes per game during the regular season but just 7.6 minutes during the conference and NCAA tournaments.
