The Chicago Bulls are trying to maximize those lottery balls.
Per Will Gottlieb of CHGO Bulls, Chicago has now ruled out starting point guard Josh Giddey, sometime-starting center Guerschon Yabusele, sometime-starting center Nick Richards (Billy Donovan had been toggling them, but Richards was the cleaner fit as an actual center-sized, rim-running big), and off-guard Anfernee Simons for the final two games of the 2025-26 season.
Simons, Yabusele and Richards will reach unrestricted free agency this summer. It’s possible that all three have appeared in their final games for Chicago, which will be rebuilding under new management during the offseason.

David Banks-Imagn ImagesWhile Giddey signed a four-year, $100 million deal as a restricted free agent last fall to remain in Chicago, the other trio is under no such constraints.
All three of Yabusele, Simons and Richards arrived to the Bulls as part of their housecleaning trade deadline deals. Simons has barely played for the team, appearing in just four contests before a lingering wrist fracture supposedly got too painful to bare (or maybe Chicago just wanted to embrace the tank).
Next up for the remaining healthy Bulls is a home tilt against the Orlando Magic on Friday night — the second game of a back-to-back slate. Chicago will conclude its season Sunday, against Rookie of the Year frontrunner Cooper Flagg and the rest of his available Dallas Mavericks.
Gottlieb reports that swingman Isaac Okoro may return for that Mavericks contest.
