We haven’t yet seen one from the big league team, but we do have our first Chicago Cubs organizational walk-off winner of the year, courtesy of the Double-A Knoxville Smokies.
Trailing the Rocket City Trash Pandas 7-5 in the 8th inning, the Smokies added a run to get within one. Then, in the bottom of the 9th, they loaded the bases ahead of catching prospect Ariel Armas, who’d entered the game as a pinch hitter the inning before.
And Armas ended it:
