ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We enjoyed beautiful sunshine on Wednesday, with seasonably cool temperatures. We’ll start to warm things up on Thursday. In fact, a southerly wind picking up Wednesday night will allow temperatures to remain much milder compared to Wednesday morning. We’ll be waking up in the upper 30s and lower 40s on Thursday morning with a mostly sunny sky. Clouds will tend to thicken up just a bit by Thursday afternoon and evening with the slight chance of a brief shower. But overall, Thursday looks great with temperatures in the mid and upper 60s. This will be due in part to an increasing southerly wind. So it’ll be a warming wind, but it’ll be a noticeable wind on Thursday.
A cold front becomes stationary and settles over the area for Friday. This will encourage clouds and off and on light showers through the day, though we may see a slight uptick in rain during the 2nd half of the day. Temperatures will also be a bit cooler, likely holding in the 40s on Friday.
The front and rain should clear for the weekend. That means a clearing sky on Saturday, but temperatures slightly cooler than average, topping out in the upper 40s to near 50. Sunday will start a nice warming trend for us, though we’ll tend to see more clouds and perhaps a stray shower. Temperatures on Sunday should reach 60, with 70s in the forecast heading into at least the first few days of next week. While next week will be milder, it’ll also be more unsettled, with off and on rain chances, along with some thunder at times.
