PEMBROKE, N.Y. — A Genesee County hazmat team responded to a chemical spill at a travel plaza off the Thruway on Tuesday night.

Fire and emergency teams got to the Flying J Travel Plaza on Route 77 around 7:30 p.m. They say a metal drum full of a chemical solvent tipped over inside a tractor trailer.

Crews found it only leaked a few ounces and were able to tip the barrel upright and secure it. No one was hurt.
