HOPEWELL, N.Y. — The Canandaigua Fire Union says there was a fire inside the motel where Sam Nordquist was allegedly tortured to death.

The fire started around 3:30 p.m. at Patty’s Lodge in Hopewell. Seven people are accused of torturing Nordquist to death inside that motel in early 2024.
