ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Rochester averages 3″ of snow in the month of April, and Mother Nature is just reminding us of that fact. We have snow showers in the forecast Monday night into Tuesday morning. The snow showers will likely be accompanied by some graupel and a period of gusty northwest winds. Snow accumulation should only be on the order of a coating to a half inch on the grass, with no impact on roads. But it will be a not so friendly reminder that we do get some wintry weather in early Spring!
Sunshine quickly makes a return by Tuesday afternoon, though temperatures will remain in the lower 30s. The wind will also slowly begin to ease a bit into the afternoon.
We’ll start a bit of a warmup on Wednesday. temperatures reach back into the 50s, with 60s making a return on Thursday. A slow moving front will try to return by Friday, which may bring a few more rain showers and some slightly cooler air Friday and to start the weekend.
There are signs that we’ll begin another warm up for Sunday and into early next week, with the possibility of 70s making a return once again.
