Marquette University will have three graduate transfers arrive this fall for the program’s first ever season. Enya Linson will join the team for a graduate year after spending her undergrad career at UCSB, Maren Romine will join after spending her undergraduate career at Eastern Michigan, and Evelyn Chin will arrive after spending her undergraduate career at Evansville.

Linson concluded her season this year at the UCSB Invite, swimming to a 1:07.03 100 breast, 2:22.39 200 breast, and a 2:11.53 200 IM. She has been as fast as a 1:04.93 100 breast, 2:15.39 200 breast, and a 2:03.49 200 IM (from high school).

Romine spent two seasons with Eastern Michigan and swam with Club Wolverine, the nearby club team this past season and did not swim at the NCAA level. Romine most recently swam at Four Corners Sectionals where she swam a 1:00.45 100 fly, 2:13.38 200 fly, 2:16.34 200 IM, and a 4:44.51 400 IM. Her best times in the 100 fly (57.94), 200 fly (2:05.79), and 200 IM (2:07.51) come from high school.

Chin spent three seasons at Evansville. She finished her season in February at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships. There she was highlighted by lifetime bests in the 100 fly (55.58), 50 free (24.13), and 100 free (52.52).

The Marquette women will begin their first season this upcoming fall. The school first announced the addition of the women’s swimming program in May 2025. The team will compete in the Big East Conference. Transfers are especially key for programs starting out as they try and have a strong roster for the first few seasons and average out the classes rather than bringing in a full program of only freshmen. Head Coach Joel Rollings told SwimSwam that the program has these three graduate transfers, two undergraduate transfers, and 16 incoming freshmen for the fall for a total of 21 commits.

Rollings also said, “The Big East next season is allowing for 22 scoring athletes so the opportunity opened up to add a bigger class this season.  Adding transfers creates a senior, Junior, and Sophomore class to add maturity to our program.  At the same time it is a novel experience for everyone, so I’m really excited about our future.”

Both Romine and Linson have said they will be pursuing a Masters of Biomedical Sciences while Chin will be pursuing a Masters in Athletic Training.
