Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly toured the industrial products exhibition at the Benha Investment Zone in Qalyubiya governorate on Saturday.
The premier was accompanied by Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid, Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem, Qalyubiya Governor Hossam Abdel Fattah, and a host of respective officials.
During the visit, Farid said the investment zone system is a modern model for integrated development, combining industrial, commercial, service, and logistics activities in charted locations. The system provides fully-equipped land and units, developed by specialized developers, relieving the state from infrastructure burdens.
Farid also emphasized that Benha zone is specialized in food and agricultural industries and houses 60 industrial projects with investments amounting to LE 1.1 billion, contributing to offering over 2,800 direct and indirect job opportunities. The zone, which began operations in September 2021, includes 147 industrial units and several commercial and service units.
The investment zone also provides essential services such as a medical point, fire station, bank branch, mosque, and complete infrastructure, including water, sewage, electricity, and communication networks.
Madbouly toured several company booths, including those producing food alternatives, frozen vegetables, meat, poultry, and other food products. He praised the quality of the products, highlighting their competitiveness in both local and international markets, and expressed satisfaction with the contributions these industries make to meet local market needs and support exports, contributing to price stability.
The visit underscored the significant role Benha investment zone has played in Egypt’s economic development, with the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones requesting additional land to expand the zone’s industrial projects in response to growing investor interest.
