The No. 15 Arkansas baseball team rallied for a pair of late runs Friday courtesy of Ryder Helfrick to earn a 3-2 victory over No. 11 Auburn in front of 5,678 at Plainsman Park in Auburn to even the weekend series heading into Saturday’s finale.
The Razorbacks (20-12 overall, 5-6 SEC) can win the pivotal SEC series by way of taking Saturday’s finale (3 pm ET, SEC Network+). Auburn (21-9, 5-6) has lost five of its last six games.

But Helfrick began the Arkansas comeback in the sixth, smacking a solo homer to left center. Helfrick then gave the Razorbacks the lead for good in the eighth with a two-run shot to center field.
Helfrick and Carter Rutenbar each had two hits for Arkansas. Eric Guevara went 2-for-4 for Auburn.
Arkansas starter Hunter Dietz (3-2) struck out 11 Tigers and scattered six hits over seven innings to earn the victory. Ethan McElvain struck out three over the final two innings to earn his first save. Auburn reliever Jett Johnston (0-1) took the loss, spoiling an eight-strikeout start over seven innings for Jake Marciano.
