As per ESPNCricinfo, Cummins has returned to Australia following SRH’s game against KKR on Thursday for one final scan. The process will be supervised by Cricket Australia and is one final scan that will determine if he has recovered from his back injury and can participate in the IPL 2026. The report states that Cummins is set to rejoin the SRH squad on April 17, provided he gets clearance from Cricket Australia.
Cummins was last seen in action during the Ashes following which he has been on the sidelines due to a lumbar stress. He even missed the T20 World Cup 2026 as well. In his absence, Ishan Kishan has been appointed as the stand-in captain for SRH. Now, going by the current reports, Cummins is set to miss at least three more games before he could potentially be a part of SRH once again in IPL 2026 season. Earlier, Cummins had stated that he would feature in the latter half of the IPL and the finals, should SRH reach there, if nothing else goes wrong.
