The advanced metrics would project an Auburn vs. New Mexico matchup as a close matchup. The Tigers enter Thursday ranked No. 40 in KenPom‘s season-long rankings while New Mexico isn’t far behind at No. 43.

Per EvanMiya, Auburn would be a significant favorite. That model gives Auburn a 58.4% chance to beat New Mexico on a neutral court.
It’s worth noting that Auburn is not at full strength (although that’s captured in EvanMiya’s projection). Starting forward KeShawn Murphy has not been with the team during the NIT.
