ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Threat Tracker is back to Green as the overall flood threat has ended for most of the region. Record rainfall Tuesday at the Rochester Airport(1.65″), brings the March totals to just under 6 inches of rain which puts this past month into the top 5 wettest on record. Localized flooding near creeks and streams will continue into tonight and then recede heading into Thursday. Drizzle and fog at times today with some light showers into the afternoon but no heavy rain or thunder in the forecast so any new rain amounts will be light. Lots of clouds and much cooler weather ahead for Wednesday with a few raindrops. A bit of steadier light rain possible south of Rochester later this afternoon
Cloudy and cool weather Thursday before a warm front arrives in the afternoon with a round of showers. At this time we are not anticipating any heavy rain with that front. Temps will climb into the 50s late in the day and stay mild into Thursday night. Friday will turn warm with a few spot showers possible but also a lot of dry time to enjoy the nicer day. Temperatures Friday soar to near or over 70 degrees.
Warm weather continues on Saturday with an increasing threat of showers and thunderstorms later in the day and at night. A cold front will move through on Easter Sunday and bring additional rain and falling temps into Sunday afternoon into the 40s. We need to monitor this closely as any heavy rain or thunder may bring some additional flood concerns later into the weekend. Stay tuned to News10 for the latest updates.
