Madbouly made the remarks during a meeting on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, to review plans for adding new and renewable energy projects to the national electricity grid as part of efforts to meet growing demand and ensure a stable power supply.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom, Assistant Minister of Finance for the State Budget Ali el Sisi, Head of the State Budget Sector at the Ministry of Finance Walid Abdullah, and assistant planning minister for infrastructure Nihad Morsi.
The prime minister directed the ministries of planning and finance to secure the necessary funding to accelerate the integration of additional renewable capacity.
The meeting addressed ways to maximize the use of renewable resources and enhance coordination among the electricity, petroleum, and finance sectors, while ensuring adequate financing for clean energy projects.
It also reviewed targeted additions of wind and solar power along with battery storage systems, under the 2030 energy strategy, as well as ongoing and planned contracts to strengthen grid stability.
The meeting also discussed renewable energy projects on lands allocated to the New and Renewable Energy Authority in the Gulf of Suez and the Red Sea regions.
