2026 Best of the South Meet
March 6-8, 2026 Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center, Atlanta, Georgia Short Course Yards (25 yards) Meet SiteIn addition to his efforts on the 15-18 boys National Age Group Record in the 200 medley relay, SwimAtlanta’s Collin Holgerson turned in several career best times and picked up four wins at the 2026 Best of the South Meet in Atlanta earlier this month.
Among those performances was a big lifetime best in the 100 breaststroke, swimming nearly half a second faster than his former best of 52.21 from the Speedo Winter Junior Championships East in December, to win here in 51.75. This marks the Tennessee commit’s first-ever sub-52 performance, and was the first of his two breaststroke wins of the meet.
Holgerson was also victorious in the 200 breast in 1:53.63, a near six-second time drop from his previous best from December, when he touched in 1:59.52 at the Speedo Winter Junior Championships.
Breaststroke was not the only stroke that was clicking at this meet for Holgerson; as previously mentioned, Holgerson was the leadoff leg of the 200 medley relay, clocking 20.86 on the opening backstroke leg, a five hundredths of a second improvement over his previous fastest time from the TISCA State Championship from early February of 20.91. Individually, he dominated the 200 back, swimming over five seconds faster than anyone else in the field in 1:40.29, just off of his 1:39.74 lifetime best from December.
His final win of the meet was in the 100 butterfly, dropping more than eight tenths of a second from his fastest ever time to win in 46.82 after entering finals in 8th after a modest 48.91 in prelims. That 46.82 tops his former best, done at this meet last season, of 47.58.
Atomic City Aquatic Club’s Landon Hall swam best times in all but one of his events at the meet; the 2027 Arizona State commit finished the meet with only one individual win, which came in the 200 IM, where he touched in a career-best 1:45.91. He also finished 2nd in the 200 breast, only trailing Holgerson in a near two-second best time of 1:56.27.
Georgia Tech’s Jillian Ferrari, representing MAAC Swim Club at this meet, managed to swim two career-best times, finishing 2nd in the 100 breast in 1:03.40, a near three-second time drop from the last time she swam this event back in 2023, when she clocked a 1:06.14 at the Potomac Valley SC Senior Championships. She also added a lifetime best in the 200 IM with her prelims time of 2:03.78, a nearly two-second improvement over her former best from those Potomac Valley Senior Championships in 2023.
