2026 Indianapolis Sectionals
March 26-29, 2026 Indianapolis, Indiana LCM (50 meters) Meet Central Meet Mobile: “2026 Central Zone East Spring Speedo Sectiona” Live StreamThe long course sectional in Indianapolis is being held at the Indiana University Natatorium. Highlighting the first night of the meet was the girls 200 backstroke.
The 200 backstroke was a tight battle between US National Team member Audrey Derivaux and US National Junior Team member Charlotte Crush. The two have faced off on numerous occasions, including going 1-2 at the World Junior Championships back in Romania when Derivuax won gold in a 2:06.99 and Crush silver in a 2:07.83. Tonight, Derivaux earned the win again touching in a 2:08.61. Crush was 2nd in a 2:09.55. Both times were season bests as Derivaux entered the day with a season best 2:09.33 while Crush entered the day with a season best 2:09.79.
Crush was back in the water in the next event on the girls side, winning the 50 fly in a 26.61. She has been as fast as 26.18 which she swam back at 2023 summer NCSAs, also in Indianapolis.
Fellow National Team member Kayla Han earned the win in the girls 800 free as she swam to a 8:44.54. Her lifetime best sits at a 8:29.66 from 2023 World Juniors. NC State commit Emily Wolf was 2nd in a lifetime best 8:49.45, dropping two and a half seconds off her best.
14 year old Joy Drees swam to a huge best time in the 200 breast for the win, touching in a 2:37.46. Drees dropped two seconds from her previous best 2:39.83 that she swam during prelims at this meet a year ago for 9th.
Highlighting the boys side of the meet was Ilia Sibirtsev as he touched in a 15:40.63 in the 1500 free. Sibirtsev represents Uzbekistan at the international level and has a lifetime best 15:05.17 in the event.
Also earning a win was Ajjuub Ezzat who competes collegiately for Oakland University. Ezzat won the 200 back today in a 2:01.10, a lifetime best by over two seconds. He was entered with a yards time of a 1:42.42, a time that he swam to win the Horizon League title just last month.
Fellow collegiate athlete Camilo Marrugo won the 50 fly in a 23.84. Marrugo just finished his graduate season at Division II Findlay. He was 2nd at the Division II Championships two weeks ago in the short course yards 100 fly with a 45.47.
16 year old Wilson York swam to the win in the 200 breast with a 2:14.31. York has been as fast as a 2:13.21 that he swam in July at NCSAs. Touching 2nd was Lucas Ackermann who swam to a 2:15.07. Ackermann, a Texas A&M commit, has a lifetime best 2:14.88.
