“I’ve worked every year of my life on one thing or another,” Plumb, 67, told Woman’s World in an interview published in March 2026. “And I think even the most famous person will tell you that it never ends. You’re always auditioning for the next job in one way or another. You’re always hoping for the next thing. … It’s a myth that at some age you can just coast.’”
Plumb credited an early post-Brady role for forging her career path as an adult. In 1976, she played a teenage runaway and prostitute in the NBC TV movie Dawn: Portrait of a Teenage Runaway.
The Dawn movie was so popular that Plumb appeared in a sequel, Alexander: The Other Side of Dawn, in 1977, thus passing up a singing and dancing role in the variety show, The Brady Bunch Hour, with her former Brady Bunch co-stars.
Eve Plumb was lucky to break out of her Brady role
While Plumb reposed her Brady Bunch role in the spin-off, The Brady Brides, and the successful 1988 TV movie A Very Brady Christmas, she never felt typecast as Jan.
More than 50 years after The Brady Bunch ended its five-season run, Plumb is a working artist and owner of the online home décor and accessories store Plumb Goods. On the acting front, she most recently voiced Big Judy in the TV series Praise Petey and she has another project, Folk, in post-production.
