Several of the top men’s Division II swimmers have entered the transfer portal including NCAA runner-up Sebastian Camacho Gomez of Findlay. All of the swimmers helped their respective teams to a top 10 finish at the 2026 Division II NCAA Championships just over a week ago.

Camacho Gomez is the biggest name to enter the portal as he scored 50 individual points at D2 NCAAs two weeks ago. He was 2nd in the 500 free in a 4:15.92, 2nd in the 1000 free in a 8:51.45, and 3rd in the 1650 free in a 15:03.28.

Catawba’s Maks Minichowski scored 47 individual points at D2 NCAAs and is also in the portal. He was 4th in both the 100 free (42.83) and 200 free (1:35.03) as well as 11th in the 50 free (19.77).

Wingate’s Fernando Dehaudt was 6th in the 500 free (4:21.67), 1000 free (9:01.75), and 1650 free (15:14.66). He scored a total of 39 individual points and has entered the portal.

Nico Basten of UIndy scored 36 individual points and had a huge meet going three for three lifetime bests. He finished 4th in the 400 IM (3:46.54), 5th in the 200 back (1:44.29), and 10th in the 200 IM (1:44.69). Basten began his career at Kentucky.

UIndy teammate Jan Niklas Schmidt was 8th in the 1000 free (9:03.74), 9th in the 500 free (4:20.94), and 9th in the 200 free (1:35.30). The UIndy men notably finished 4th as a team at the meet.

No individual who scored 30+ points on the women’s side is in the portal At least 12 women are in the portal from the University of Montevallo. Montevallo was recommended to be cut but the program is waiting for the Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for May 1
