ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Two people, including a 14-year-old boy, are facing charges after Rochester Police say an officer was assaulted.
At around 4:15 p.m. Monday, officers responded to Clifford Avenue for a report of family trouble.
Police say preliminary investigations found that Elio-Enrique Azuaje-Hasma, 33, had punched a family member in the face. They also say Azuaje-Hasma had an outstanding domestic warrant for aggravated harassment.
When trying to take Azuaje-Hasma into custody, police say he tried running back into the house and started fighting with officers. Police say while still trying to take Azuaje-Hasma into custody, his 14-year-old son started repeatedly hitting officers.
Additional officers responded and eventually both Azuaje-Hasma and his son were taken into custody. Police say one of the responding officers suffered a lower body injury and will be on medical leave.
Azuaje-Hasma is charged with two counts of assault, resisting arrest, and aggravated harassment for his outstanding warrant. He was arraigned and is being held at the Monroe County Jail on $20,000 bail.
Azuaje-Hasma’s 14-year-old son is charged with assault and resisting arrest. He was issued an appearance ticket.
