Ultimately, none of it matters until the games count, and we find out whether Imanaga can get back a few more strikeouts, cut down the baserunners enough for the (inevitable) home runs not to crush him, and generally be the guy we saw in 2024 rather than the second half of 2025. Again, the velocity uptick – after an offseason to rest, get healthy, and get mechanically right – is very encouraging, and Imanaga himself feels like he had a good spring.
