ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 20-year-old man previously sentenced 50 years to life in prison for the murder of Jermaine Wilkins has been found guilty of the murder of another man.
Kyelon Marbury was found guilty of murder, four counts of criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of stolen property.
In April 2023, a woman in the City of Rochester was driving her vehicle near Rosewood Terrace and Webster Avenue, when she was shot at by Marbury.
Two days later, Rochester Police officers responded to Webster Avenue and found 31-year-old James Huff between Parsells Avenue and Melville Street with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Huff was immediately brought to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Investigators later determined that Huff was walking home that night when Marbury and at least one other person shot at Huff in a drive-by shooting. Marbury was also identified as the person responsible for shooting at the woman two days prior.
Prosecutors say Marbury was incarcerated on another homicide case when he was charged with the murder of Huff.
In February 2023, Marbury shot and killed Wilkins. Hours before Wilkins was killed, Marbury tried to shoot someone while driving down Scio Street. He was sentenced in January for Wilkins’ murder and attempted murder for shooting the other person.
Marbury is set to be sentenced in April.
