The World Ballet Company will present Swan Lake at the Historic Bama Theatre on April 12 at 6 p.m.
The ballet is part of the company’s tour with over 80 shows across the country. WBC is currently in its fourth season and is known for making Broadway-style ballets more accessible by bringing performances to over 180 cities each year.
“We believe ballet is for everyone, and the response from audiences nationwide
has been incredible,” said Gulya Hartwick, producer and co-founder of WBC. “Swan Lake is arguably the most iconic ballet ever created, and we’re thrilled to bring this majestic production to Tuscaloosa.”
Swan Lake tells the story of Prince Siegfried falling in love with Princess Odette, who has been cursed by a sorcerer to be a swan by day. The production features over 150 hand-sewn costumes and hand-painted sets.
“Our Swan Lake combines the elegance of classical ballet with vivid, immersive storytelling,” said Sasha Gorskaya, co-founder of the WBC. “It’s a magical experience for both ballet newcomers and longtime fans.”
Ticket prices range from $27.50 to $97.50 and can be purchased on the WBC website or at the Historic Bama Theatre’s box office.
