McClain remained a central character on All My Children until her exit in 1996, later returning for additional runs from 1998 to 2002 and again from 2005 until 2007.
In May 2011, the show revealed Dixie was alive and being held captive by Dr. David Hayward (Vincent Irizarry). McClain remained with the series through its final ABC episode and later reprised the role briefly for Prospect Park’s 2013 online revival before its cancellation.
Since leaving All My Children, McClain had continued her daytime career, including a Daytime Emmy Award-winning run on Days of Our Lives as Jennifer Rose Deveraux. She currently appears on Beyond the Gates as Pamela Curtis.
