ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We started the first full day of Spring with some fog and wet weather. Low level clouds and plenty of moisture combined with colder temperatures brought in some light drizzle and even some wet flakes early this morning, but the rest of the day will be dry and seasonably cool with highs in the low to mid 40s. Clouds will dominate but there should be a little bit of sun poking through the clouds this afternoon.

Tonight an elongated trough of lower pressure combined with a steep temperature gradient and increased moisture will enter the region, bringing in bouts of rain throughout the day tomorrow. It will be warmer with highs near 50, but still a nasty day to be outside for most. The most concentrated rain will slowly dip south throughout the day, and briefly turn to wet snow in the evening. Only an inch or less of snow is expected for the Rochester and Finger Lakes region, and total liquid precipitation amounts will be around a quarter inch. We stay Green on the Threat Tracker the whole way through.

Monday is much colder behind the boundary with highs only in the low 30s. Some snow showers are possible that day but nothing that will impact the commute and minor accumulations only. Tuesday morning will be our first sunny period in a while, and the day will be less cold with highs in the upper 30s. We’re keeping our eye on multiple chances of mixed precipitation later next week, so stay tuned.
