ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Wegmans shoppers will soon have an easy way to help local families in need.

The United Way’s “Scan Campaign” returns to Wegmans starting next Wednesday. Shoppers can round up or donate at the register to support food, housing and mental health care.

Organizers say anything you can give will make a difference.

“When you give to United Way you’re helping to support the 1 in 3 families in our community that are struggling to make ends meet. We all know that right now it’s a tough time for a lot of our families and United Way is working diligently to help fill in the gaps for our families,” said Erin Bombard, senior director of marketing and communications at United Way

The campaign runs through May 3.
