2026 Arkansas Activities Association 5A State Swimming and Diving Championships

Feb. 27-28, 2026 Benton, AR SCY (25 yards) Results 

It was a return to the top for the Russellville girls and another title for the Batesville boys at the Arkansas Activities Association 5A State Swimming and Diving Championships.

After seeing a run of four straight titles end last year, the Russellville girls reclaimed their spot atop the state by finishing 86 points ahead of runner-up Little Rock Christian.

The Batesville boys won their fifth straight title in a closer meet, finishing 16 points better than runner-up Russellville.

Girls’ Recap

Russellville was led by senior Jenni Belongia, who won the 100 free in a personal best time of 55.39 and was a part of two winning relay teams.

In the 200 free relay, Belongia split 25.30 on the anchor leg to help her team win with a time of 1:47.18. Other team members were Alvina Dennis (28.31), Sophia Duggan (26.90) and Annabeth Miller (26.67).

Belongia anchored in 48.61 to lead Russellville’s 400 free relay team to victory in a time of 3:57.65. She was joined by Alyvia Davis (1:02.25), Duggan (1:00.06) and Miller (1:06.73).

There were three multi-event winners:, junior Adison McGaha and sophomore Caroline Rowe of Valley View and Mountain Home freshman Callie Kohler.

After winning the 50 free and 100 back last year, McGaha claimed the 200 IM in a personal best time of 2:17.39 and the 100 breast in a time of 1:12.30 this year.

Rowe repeated as champion in both the 200 free (1:58.98) and 500 free (5:13.03).

McGaha and Rowe also helped Valley View win the 200 medley relay. Rowe split 32.56 on the breast leg and McGaha anchored in 25.32 on free to help the team claim the victory in 2:00.24. Other team members were Alexandra Sanders (35.26) on back and Katie Rowe (27.10) on fly.

Kohler made her first high school state meet a great one, winning titles in the 50 free (24.52) and the 100 back (58.64).

Van Buren freshman Sinye Whitman won the 1-meter diving competition with 336.70 points, while Lake Hamilton sophomore Aubrey Schmitt claimed the 100 fly in a time of 1:01.98.

Boys’ Recap

Batesville had a pair of swimmers who won two individual events and were a part of two winning relay teams: Senior Sawyer Rudisill and junior Parker Rodgers.

Rudisill repeated as champion in the 200 IM, touching the wall in a personal best time of 2:03.12. He later won his third straight title in the 100 breast in a personal best time of 1:01.88.

Rodgers won the sprint freestyle events, claiming the 50 free in a time of 22.01 and the 100 free in a personal best of 48.47.

In the 200 medley relay, Rudisill split 27.23 on the breast leg and Rodgers went 23.27 on fly to help Batesville win with a time of 1:40.10. Other team members were Sam Smith (27.10) on back and Albert Harless (22.50) on free.

Later in the 400 free relay, Rodgers led off in 48.68 and Rudisill anchored in 52.26 to help Batesville win with a time of 3:30.82. Other team members were Smith (55.77) and Harless (54.11).

The other multi-event winner was Benton senior Owen Green, who won the 200 free in 1:55.44 and the 500 free in 5:14.12.

Other event winners were:

Russellville senior Cody Polston won the 1-meter diving competition with 258.75 points. Benton freshman Jagger Mercing claimed the 100 fly in a personal best of 53.63. Jonah Teague, a freshman for Benton, won the 100 back in a personal best time of 58.40. The 200 free relay was won by Benton’s team of Kaleb Fowler (24.80), Teague (23.99), Green (23.42) and Mercing (22.41) in a time of 1:34.62.
