Carrboro will soon gain another dining option for hungry residents, as Raleigh-based barbecue restaurant Longleaf Swine is planning to open a new location in town.
In an Instagram post from late February, Longleaf Swine BBQ announced it will take over the 307 E Main St. space formerly occupied by Luna Rotisserie and Taproom.

“We are really excited about our Carrboro location and glad the word is getting out,” owner and operator Adam Cunningham told Chapelboro. “We just got the keys last week and are shooting for a fall opening.”
Longleaf Swine offers diners barbecue platters, sandwiches, wings, and more.
“At Longleaf Swine, we’re all about slow smoked meats, good music, and even better company,” the restaurant’s website reads. “What started as a passion for Southern traditions has grown into a gathering place for chef-crafted eats, a top-shelf bourbon list, and the kind of down-home hospitality that keeps folks coming back.”
The Carrboro location will serve as Longleaf Swine’s third, with the owners acquiring the space formerly occupied by the Sawmill Tap Room in North Raleigh in September of 2025.

Luna, which offered empanadas and other South American and Southern fare, announced its closure in late February. Its final day of operation was Sunday, Mar. 8.
“Thank you for every memory inside these walls,” the restaurant’s closing announcement read. “We built it with heart. You filled it with life.”
According to the post, catering services will still be available through Luna’s Durham location.
