The girls just keep on winning.
The Crusaders Soccer Club’s competitive girls’ 2014 team was recently crowned SOCAL State Cup champion.
The team, coached by Justin Robinett, won all their games handily without a single loss.
In addition, the 2014 boys’ team came in second in their SOCAL State Cup tourney. They outscored their opponents 20-5. Their only loss was by a penalty kick in the final game. There were 52 teams in their division.
There were teams representing San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Ventura, and Kern counties.
Upcoming tryouts for U15-U19 boys and girls set for April 20-25
Competitive tryouts for all boys and girls ages U15-U19 will be held April 20-25.
Competitive players benefit from a professional coaching environment focused on player development, character, and sportsmanship. The program is built around a welcoming and inclusive club culture where every athlete is supported in their growth on and off the field.
Throughout the season, players have opportunities to participate in high‑level competitive tournaments, always ensuring a balanced and engaging soccer experience.

So far, 657 players from U7 to U14 have participated in tryouts with five age groups to go. Last year, there were 725 players total across all age groups.
Erick Melendez, the director of the Boys Program, officially announced Crusaders Soccer acceptance into the national Elite Academy 2 for the boys’ program and the national Development Player League for the girls’ program.
7 V 7 Competitive program: Pedro Meneses, coordinator for all 7v7 competitive teams, players born 2020 through 2016 said, “We have increased the number of teams from 8 to13 compared, and we also see a tremendous improvement in commitment, and all teams are playing at a high level.”
Recreational program: The recreational spring season plays on Sundays and consists of eight games which commenced earlier this month. The teams play throughout the day at Tuxedo and Rancho Mission Parks, Dailard Elementary, and starting at 11 a.m. at Gage Elementary School.
“This is a very good example of ‘it takes a village,'” said Modesto Guariniello, director of coaching for the recreational program. “All the recreational teams are coached by dedicated volunteers, and I am assisted by an outstanding cadre of volunteer division coordinators. Stop by any Sunday at one of our fields through April 26 and enjoy a youth soccer game.”
The next soccer skills camp for all levels of soccer players is the Spring Break Camp, March 31 – April 2, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Pershing Middle School fields.
