St. Patrick’s Day celebrations
St. Patrick’s Day has arrived. While many people in Rochester celebrated on Saturday with the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in downtown, some places are celebrating on St. Patrick’s Day itself.
Barry’s Old School Irish Pub in Fairport has an all-day celebration on Tuesday with live music, dancing, food specials, and drinks. It starts with an Irish coffee and breakfast station from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Here’s the schedule for the rest of the day:
9 a.m. Performance from ROC City Guardians Pipes and Drums 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Irish music by Kevin Reynolds and Lucky Enough 2 to 2:30 p.m. Performance from Rochester Academy of Irish Dance 3 to 5 p.m. Irish music by Celtic Cross 3 to 3:30 p.m. Performance from Jamieson Irish Dance 5:30 to 6 p.m. Performance from bagpipers 5:30 to 10 p.m. Irish music by The Great Dave North TrioIn addition, Three Heads Brewing is holding its “St. Patty Day Ride” with beer stops along the way. The group will meet at 5:45 p.m. at Three Heads Brewing on Atlantic Avenue. The ride starts at 6 p.m. Some of the stops include Johnny’s Irish Pub, Lock 32 Brewing, and Jeremiah’s Tavern. RCSD recruitment event
The Rochester City School District is holding a recruitment event for substitute teachers on Tuesday at the Winton Branch Library on Winton Road. It runs from 1 to 3 p.m. Several other RCSD teacher recruitment events are happening this month. You can see the full list here.
Monroe County naturalization ceremony
Some people in Monroe County will become new U.S. citizens. A naturalization ceremony is happening at 2 p.m. at Courtroom 2 of the Kenneth B. Keating U.S. Courthouse on State Street in downtown Rochester.

The next one is happening at the Rochester Institute of Technology campus on Tuesday, April 7, starting at 11:30 a.m. There will also be ceremonies happening at the Women’s Rights National Historic Park in Seneca Falls, Genesee Country Museum, George Eastman Museum, and more later this year.
Naturalization ceremonies have resumed in Monroe County after the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services paused them in several upstate New York counties last November.
