PITTSFORD, N.Y. — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) responded to an incident at St. John Fisher University on March 15, 2026, involving a female staff member and an unknown male suspect. The incident was reported at 9:48 a.m..
MCSO told News10NBC the suspect followed the victim from a bus stop on Fairport Road to the campus, where he subjected her to unwanted physical contact. The victim was not injured and alerted campus security upon reaching the campus.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing a black jacket, khaki pants, black shoes, and a black backpack.
Deputies reviewed security footage and searched the area but did not locate the suspect. The MCSO Criminal Investigations Section is leading the investigation, with deputies focusing on the campus and nearby areas.
MCSO expressed gratitude for their partnership with St. John Fisher’s Office of Safety and Security and emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety of students and staff. The investigation is ongoing. MCSO urges anyone with information to call 911.

The incident was reported to Safety and Security, and the individual was observed leaving campus shortly afterward.
