After achieving a career high score of 9.900 on the uneven bars last week against Illinois, senior Gabby Gladieux scored a 9.950 during the home meet against No. 6 Georgia on Friday.
The Alabama gymnastics team has notched multiple career-high scores during the 2026 season. Headed into the postseason, junior Chloe Lacoursiere said the team continues to build on their skills and “get back into the gym, ready for more.”
Throughout the 2026 season, Gladieux has stayed consistent on the floor exercise with scores ranging from 9.850 to 9.975 and has continued to improve on the uneven bars, with her lowest score starting at 9.625 to now scoring a 9.950 during the last home meet of the season.
“I think it’s a testament to our team mantra, which is ‘progress not perfection,’ and we’re going to be the best at getting better,” head coach Ashley Johnston said.
Gladieux and her team continue to fight day in and day out to be the best athletes for themselves and those around them. In-season high scores are just the beginning for the Alabama gymnastics team; they plan to keep pushing themselves to be better and will keep raising the bar throughout the postseason.
The Crimson Tide will travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to face all nine SEC teams in the SEC Championship. The meet will be held Saturday with two sessions featuring teams seeded five through nine at 2 p.m CT, and the top four seeded teams at 7 p.m CT. It can be streamed on SEC Network+.
