2026 Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships

Feb. 12-14, 2026 Richmond, VA SCY (25 yards) Results 

It was a high five for the Collegiate School girls and a sweet six for the St. Christopher’s boys at the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships.

The Collegiate School girls claimed their fifth straight championship and the St. Christopher boys their sixth consecutive crown, both in dominant fashion.

Girls’ Recap 

Collegiate School was led by senior Emory DeGuenther, who repeated in two individual events and was a part of two winning relay teams.

Committed to Duke, DeGuenther repeated as champion in the 200 free with a time of 1:48.42, and then also defended her title in the 100 free in a time of 50.97.

DeGuenther also swam anchor for Collegiate School’s winning teams in the 200 and 400 free relays.

In the 200 free relay, the team of Valentina Linkonis (23.89), Savannah Harris (23.34), Jasper Jones (23.35) and DeGuenther (23.12) won in a time of 1:33.70.

The 400 free relay was taken by Collegiate School’s team of  Kate Boutry (52.51), Gabby Carvalho (53.79), Jones (51.82) and DeGuenther (50.57) in 3:28.69.

Collegiate School also won the 200 medley relay in 1:44.27 behind the team of Boutry (25.90), Harris (28.82), Margaret Hepper (26.22) and Linkonis (23.33).

The other multi-event winner was Oakcrest senior Elizabeth Bryan, who recorded a pair of three-peats.

Committed to Navy, Bryan first won her third straight title in the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.61. She also won her third straight crown in the 100 breast with a time of 1:02.19.

Other individual winners were:

Potomac senior Kate Douglas, a Dartmouth commit, won the 50 free in 23.60. Seton sophomore Meghan Condon captured the 1-meter diving competition with 328.15 points. Potomac junior Cecelia Russell won the 100 fly in 55.78 after finishing 6th last year. St. Catherine’s freshman Brantley Patterson captured the 500 free in a personal best 4:55.08. Madeira School freshman Erin Krass claimed the 100 back in a personal best time of 54.65.

Girls’ Team Standings — Top 5

Boys’ Recap

St. Christopher’s was led by senior Ryan Smith, who was on two winning relay teams and tied for 1st in the 50 free with Trinity Episcopal junior Aidin Muminovic. Both produced identical times of 21.03 in the final after Muminovic dropped a 20.98 clocking in the prelims..

In the 200 medley relay, Smith split 22.11 on the fly leg to help St. Christopher’s win in a time of 1:32.69. Other team members were Matt Matthews (24.43), Edward Johnson (24.95) and Ben Franks (21.20).

Smith led off in 21.31 to help St. Christopher’s win the 200 free relay in a time of 1:24.40. Other team members were Franks (21.37), Towsend Sexton (21.06) and Edward Johnson (20.66).

There were three multi-event winners individually, Covenant School senior Will Charlton, Trinity Christian senior Tyler Phillips and Woodberry Forest senior Rawlings Leachman.

Committed to Navy, Charlton repeated as champion in the 200 free with a time of 1:38.26, and then won his third straight title in the 500 free, touching the wall in a time of 4:25.12.

Phillips, a Stanford commit, won the 100 fly in a personal best 47.15 and then got right back in the pool to win the 100 free, claiming that title in 45.13.

Committed to Duke, Leachman won the 200 IM in 1:49.57 and then repeated as champion in the 100 back with a time of 48.91.

St. John Paul senior Eric Koler won the 100 breast in a time of 55.77 and Bishop O’Connell sophomore Rai Detain claimed the 1-meter diving title with 490.10 points.

Bishop O’Connell won the 400 free relay behind the team of Graham Rowan (47.29), Keaghan Fahle (47.82), Paul Mullen (47.17) and Jermaine Worthen (48.25) in 3:10.53.
