CHAMPION — David William O’Rell, 77, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at his home.
He was born Feb. 14, 1949, in Warren, the son of the late Robert O’Rell and the late Rochelle Meyers O’Rell.
David worked at Thomas Steel as a pipefitter and was a plumber. He liked helping others, staying busy, bicycling, playing guitar and listening to bluegrass music.
He was a trustee and diaconate at Champion Christian Church and was part of the care crew at Champion Schools.
David is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda O’Rell, whom he married Dec. 19, 1969; daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Lamboy, Elaine O’Rell and Rhonda (Wayne) Ellks; grandchildren, Caitlin (Dan) Fox, Ryan (Samantha) McClellan, Laura (Nick) McClellan, Mark (Marissa) Ellks and Paige (Tim) Ellks; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth O’Rell.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Champion Christian Church, where the Rev. Vanessa Bostick will officiate. Friends may call 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Champion Christian Church and The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project in his memory.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
