Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks will take their show on the road next season, as the team will play a pair of games in Germany.
The NHL announced that the Blackhawks would participate in the next edition of the league’s Global Series in December when they take on the Ottawa Senators at the PSD Dome in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The games are set for Dec. 18 and Dec. 20, 2026, according to NHL officials.
According to the league, the games will be the fourth and fifth the Blackhawks have played outside of North America. They opened their 2009-10 season in Finland, winning one game and losing one in a shootout to the Florida Panthers in Helsinki.
Needless to say, the kickoff to the season ended up giving them good mojo for the season, as they ended up winning their first Stanley Cup championship in 49 years.
Things didn’t go quite so well for the Blackhawks in their last game overseas, as they lost 4-3 to the Philadelphia Flyers to open the 2019-20 season in Prague.
