Friday was a busy night in the SEC. In Nashville, we had the SEC Tournament quarterfinals on the hardwood. Everywhere else, we had the start of conference play in baseball. And for all the good that transpired, we unfortunately had some bad that went with it.
In Norman, Oklahoma defeated Texas A&M 8-7 in a game the Sooners trailed 4-0 before they got to bat. That, obviously, isn’t bad. What was, though, was the treatment of Jaxon Willits. He socked a game-tying home run in the bottom of the sixth for Oklahoma, and celebrated by slamming his lumber on the ground. He was ejected for doing so.

Some fans in the comments pointed to NCAA rules prohibiting bat slams as the reason for Willits’ ejection, but others were in disbelief at the decision.

Oklahoma is now 16-2 on the season, with losses to only Arizona State and Gonzaga. The Sooners can clinch the series over the Aggies with a win Saturday afternoon (4:00 p.m. ET) or Sunday (2:00 p.m. ET)
