March 12-16, 2026 SCY (25 yards) West Fargo, ND Meet DetailsThe West Fargo Sectionals meet kicked off tonight with the 1000 free, 200 medley relay, and 800 free relay.
Kate Farrell of Saint Charles Swim Team swam to a new lifetime best in the 1000 freestyle in her win to begin the night. She touched in a 10:03.30, dropping 1.99 seconds off her previous lifetime best of a 10:05.29 that she swam last March at Sectionals in Rochester. Farrell is an Illinois commit and her time here would have been just off the team’s top 1000 freestyler from this past season as Liv Dorshorst led in a 10:02.45.
Patriot Aquatic Club out of Illinois swept the girls relays on night 1. The team of Jocelyn Hayashi, Heidi Swerkun, Christine Liu, and Aria Grossenbach swam to a 1:43.86 in the 200 medley to touch ahead of McFarland Spartan Sharks was 2nd in a 1:44.13.
Hayashi and Grossenbach were also members of the winning 800 free relay as they swam alongside Sophia Dimitrov and Amelia Willis to combine for the win in a 7:35.14. Grossenbach, a Louisville commit, notably split a 1:48.07 on the 2nd leg which was over a second faster than her flat start best of a 1:49.76.
Carter O’Leary of McFarland Spartan Sharks swam to a lifetime best 9:30.12 in his 1000 free dropping 1.98 seconds from his previous best. O’Leary is committed to UW-Eau Claire and is a huge pick up for the program.
McFarland Spartan Sharks swam to the win in the 200 medley relay as Blake Tebeest, Gavin Reiser, Cale Tebeest, and O’Leary swam to a 1:29.55. Cale Tebeest notably split a 21.21 fly leg while Blake led off in a 21.97 backstroke split.
The West Fargo Flyers earned the win in the men’s 800 free relay as Isaac Elhard, Logan Engelstad, Isaiah Ayers, and Brody Engelstad swam to a 6:41.95. Elhard led off in a 1:38.82, about a second off his lifetime best 1:37.83 that he swam just last week at the North Dakota High School Boys State Championship.
